The Community
Pre-entry and reentry resources
Pre-entry and reentry resources
The Community has two arms: an in-reach arm (Pre-entry) fostering the full potential of people with criminal records and an outreach arm (Correcting the Narrative) showcasing their successes, humanity, and agency. Our pre-entry uses the most widely-read newsletter in the WI prison system and an unprecedented prison Wiki (like Wikipedia) to meet incarcerated people exactly where they are in their journeys to help them see themselves differently and best prepare for success upon release in a way that aligns with their gifts and personality. Our Correcting the Narrative Campaign combats the fear, pity, and spectacle narratives regarding people with criminal records through physical and virtual events and innovative messaging through autobiographical storytelling and animation.
